The Camelot Wheel, explained

The Camelot Wheel writes the 24 musical keys as a number from 1 to 12 plus a letter: A for minor keys and B for major keys. Keys that sit next to each other on the wheel share most of their notes, so songs in those keys sound good together.

Same code

Two songs with the same code share a key and blend naturally (8A → 8A).

One step around the wheel

Move one number up or down and keep the letter for a smooth change of energy (8A → 7A or 9A).

Switch the letter

Keep the number and switch between A and B to move between the relative minor and major (8A → 8B).

Energy boost

Jumping two steps (8A → 10A) is a bolder move that can lift the mood — use it with care.
